The Richard (Yogi) Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund offers contributors the unique opportunity to honor the late Mr. Crowe by supporting students who will be tomorrow’s leaders.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Fund has been established as a perpetual endowment and plans are to contribute raising money to meet the increasing costs of higher education. The Fund is incorporated under the laws of North Carolina as a non-profit, tax exempt corporation . All gifts are deductible. Accountability statements will be sent annually upon request. As of December 2021, 114 enrolled members have been assisted for a total of $390,001. Many of the students are now working in Cherokee in professional positions in the schools, service agencies and tribal programs.<\/p>\n
The year 2025 will be the 40th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the Yogi Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund.\u00a0 The current Board of Directors is proposing that former grant recipients, present and past board members and others donate $40, $400, $4,000 or multiples of\u00a040s such as 80, 120, etc.\u00a0in 2025.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All contributions will be added to the perpetual endowment fund from which grants to students are made three times a year from the spendable income.\u00a0<\/span>Please be thinking about donating $40, $400, $4,000 or any other amount to the Yogi Crowe Memorial Scholarship Fund now or in 2025.\u00a0 Donations can be made by PayPal going to our website \u2013\u00a0<\/span>www.yogicrowescholarship.org<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 and clicking on Donate.\u00a0 Checks or money orders can be sent to P. All memorials are placed in the endowment fund and the earnings are used to assist enrolled members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians working on graduate and post-graduate degrees.
